Should we eliminate affirmative action?
Even though it has some flaws, I do not believe that we should eliminate affirmative action. Affirmative action ensures that many minorities can get into colleges and gain employment. While this is true, I also believe that there should be more rules or restrictions to limit more extreme cases of affirmative action. For example, minorities should not be accepted into jobs or schools simply because they are minorities. Giving them an advantage is one thing, and is completely fine, but hiring someone with a complete lack of the necessary skills for a job should not happen. That being said, I still do agree with affirmative action and the equality that it promotes. It gives minorities a chance to live a successful live by getting a job that they would not have normally gotten or by going to college. This gives them the same opportunities as white people and often breaks families out of the cycle of poverty, allowing their kids to go to college or get a better job.
