Integration in schools

Integrating schools is not  essential  for kids to have a good education but It would be beneficial in order to take one step closer in dealing with the bigger problem. Integration can be beneficial for school for they can help students with different ethnicities covering their learning skills. And the place providing that certain education should be in their neighborhood. In 1896, the Plessy vs Ferguson case ruled that schools can be "separate but equal" which continued the concept of there being segregated schools. The only problem was the schools were not equal, African Americans sometimes had to walk miles in Order to get to schools meanwhile white children were driven to school. Education needs to be provided in their neighbor hood to avoid walking or having to take a long trips. Also integration in schools would helps students from different backgrounds  and different areas reach their academic potential but also in an open minded environment. Instead of segregated schools focusing an one educational plan made for a certain group, integrated schools provide options in the type of educational support offered. Integrated schools have a higher number of kids that have a learning disability and and also the students will feel more open in an environment that fits them. the students will be more open and comfortable knowing and understanding that kids from different backgrounds have the same learning standards meanwhile in segregated schools the students will adapt to the type of students that surround them and will have a difficult time adapting to other types of kids. That is why I believe that integration in schools are beneficial as it is taking a step closer solving with the bigger problem!
