I believe integration in schools is necessary. In the real world, we see a diverse community, not only made up of one kind of people. In school, we need to understand other cultures, backgrounds, race and how best we can work together to help each other grow and develop as individuals. In my opinion, this can only happen with an integrated school system where the school's population is not only diverse via the students, but also emphasize the importance of diversity through its curriculum and critical conversations. If you don't experience life outside your own culture or learn about something new or someone else, you would develop a closed mindset. Such a mindset clouds your view of the world, your contributions are limited and little growth takes place. As such, an integrated school is one way of exposing students and preparing them for the real world.
