Is integration necessary to ensure educational equity?

Education is the building block of success. Without education, it is really hard to succeed, especially in America so educational equity should target the weak areas of students. I believe school integration is not necessary for educational equity for many reasons. One reason is because educational equity and quality starts with the system and therefore the teachers. To get educational equity, we have to change the education system so it focuses on the things that certain types of students need to ensure their success in the future. By changing the system, we would hire more student support specialists and have more teachers in the classroom (like Go Project does) to help the students become prepared. Another reason is because being around kids of other races doesn't help you get the education that you need to succeed. Although some might say that being in an integrated classroom allows students to hear different viewpoints, what will these viewpoints do to improve your education? Students can still learn about other viewpoints through secondary and primary sources that they may read and through lessons the teacher may teach. Some people might also say that integration is essential because in reality, the students aren't going to be segregated. This is false because in reality, there is segregation all over; for example, in neighborhoods and workplaces. Most of the time people are segregated because they feel more comfortable being with people similar to them which is often people of their race. So, integration is not necessary for educational equity because it starts with the education system, students should feel comfortable in the classroom, and the “real world” isn't integrated.
