Microagressions are very real. We see and even think them everyday without blinking an eye. The problem is fixing the problem. It is extremely hard to change one person's mind, let alone the majorities. We discussed how they are so prevalent in the media (ex. tv shows like Modern Family) so when kids are young they hear these microagressions and (without understanding what they mean) repeat them. By having these messages in our media we teach our younger generations that being racist, sexist, etc. is okay. While we can have microagressions that we don't know that they are mean, we should understand what we are saying before we say it.
