Microaggressions
By definition, a microaggression is a brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignity, whether intentional or not, that communicates a hostile, deragotory, or negative slight and insults people. More often than not, microaggressions are intentional and offend the person being targeted. Most microaggressions are triggered by your appearance, which includes race and gender. Although some microagressions are obvious, others are perceived. In other words, they may be seen as microagressions when they are not. For example, when Tiana was introduced as the first African American Disney princess there was some controversy. Some viewers saw her having to work hard to earn her own restaurant and spending most of the movie as a frog as microagressions. I don't think those are micro aggressions because it probably happened to accommodate with the plot. Cinderella also worked hard do chores and she didn't receive any controversy. That's the tricky thing about microagressions: your mind and experiences shape the way you perceive whether or not a statement is a microaggression.
